kāśīsthaiḥ patitaistulyā na vayaṃ svargiṇaḥ kvacit | kāśyāṃ pātādbhayaṃ nāsti svargepātādbhayaṃ mahat
Skanda (deduced: Kāśīkhaṇḍa commonly Skanda → Agastya)
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A speaker renounces heaven, gesturing toward Kāśī’s temples; above, a faint depiction of svarga with a downward path symbolizing fall; Kāśī below is steady, anchored by Śiva’s presence.
Heavenly enjoyment is temporary and insecure, while Kāśī is praised as a stable refuge leading beyond downfall and return.
Kāśī (Vārāṇasī), contrasted with svarga to highlight its unique liberating status.
No explicit ritual is stated; the verse recommends prioritizing Kāśīvāsa over seeking svarga.
