अस्मिन्पुरेभिषिच्याथ विसृज्येंद्रादिकान्सुरान् । अलंचकार स्वं लोकं विष्णुनाऽनुमतो द्विज
asminpurebhiṣicyātha visṛjyeṃdrādikānsurān | alaṃcakāra svaṃ lokaṃ viṣṇunā'numato dvija
اے دِوِج! اس شہر میں ابھیشیک کے بعد اس نے اندرا اور دیگر دیوتاؤں کو رخصت کیا؛ اور وشنو کی اجازت سے اپنے لوک کو آراستہ و منظم کیا۔
Skanda (deduced: Kāśīkhaṇḍa context, addressing Agastya as dvija)
Tirtha: Kāśī (as abhiṣeka-kṣetra in this episode)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇa interlocutor (explicitly addressed: ‘dvija’)
Scene: Bṛhaspati is ceremonially anointed in Kāśī—water poured from a kalaśa—while Indra and other devas stand respectfully. Viṣṇu gestures approval. Afterward, Bṛhaspati departs toward a luminous celestial realm, arranging it like a well-ordered city of learning.
Kāśī is portrayed as a place of empowerment and spiritual legitimacy, where divine approval supports righteous order.
The verse broadly glorifies Kāśī (“this city”) as the setting of consecration and divine sanction.
Bhiṣeka/abhiṣeka (consecratory anointing) is implied by “bhiṣicya” in the city.
