saphalardhirahaṃ cādya sudivādyaca me mune | prākkṛtaiḥ sukṛtairadya phalitaṃ me cirārjitaiḥ
Giri/Śaila (mountain personified, addressing the sage)
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and other ṛṣis (traditional frame)
Scene: The mountain, eyes moist with gratitude, declares that its prosperity and the day itself have become auspicious because long-earned merits have ripened upon meeting the sage.
Past merit matures as present grace; meeting holy beings is a sign of ripened puṇya.
The Kāśīkhaṇḍa narrative glorifies Kāśī as a realm where puṇya quickly bears fruit, though no named tīrtha appears in this verse.
None explicitly; the verse interprets saintly encounter as the fruit of sukṛta (merit).
