śabara uvāca | naivāhaṃ kāmaye vittaṃ na dhānyaṃ vastrameva ca | yo yasyaivānnamaśnāti sa tasyāśnāti kilbiṣam
Śabara
Tirtha: Revā tīrthas (general)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Rājñī (queen)
Scene: A Śabara ascetic refuses offered wealth/food, raising a hand in gentle refusal; the donor stands with offerings; the atmosphere is austere and morally resolute.
Purity in livelihood and dependence matters: accepting sustenance can carry ethical and karmic implications.
The verse continues the moral dialogue situated at the pāpa-nāśana tīrtha context (Śūlabheda region).
No formal ritual; it cautions against accepting another’s food, stressing ethical purity and mindful dependence.
