अभिगम्योत्तमं दानं स्मृतमाहूय मध्यमम् । याच्यमानं कनीयः स्याद्देहि देहीति चाधमम्
abhigamyottamaṃ dānaṃ smṛtamāhūya madhyamam | yācyamānaṃ kanīyaḥ syāddehi dehīti cādhamam
جو خیرات خود چل کر دی جائے وہ یادگار طور پر اعلیٰ ترین ہے؛ جو بلانے پر دی جائے وہ درمیانی ہے۔ جو مانگنے پر دی جائے وہ کم تر ہے؛ اور جو بار بار ‘دے دے’ کہہ کر نکلوائی جائے وہ سب سے ادنیٰ ہے۔
