प्रार्थितोऽयं मया राजा सुतां दातुं न चेच्छति । तेन नष्टोऽग्निशरणादहं भो द्विजसत्तमाः
prārthito'yaṃ mayā rājā sutāṃ dātuṃ na cecchati | tena naṣṭo'gniśaraṇādahaṃ bho dvijasattamāḥ
“میں نے اس راجا سے درخواست کی کہ اپنی بیٹی دے دے، مگر وہ راضی نہیں۔ اسی لیے، اے برہمنوں کے سردارو، میں نے مقدس آگ کی پناہ سے ہٹ کر خود کو اوجھل کر لیا۔”
