brahmaṇe dharmamuddiśya tasyā lokā hyanāmayāḥ | evaṃ ca pakṣapakṣānte śrāddhe tarpeddvijottamān
Narrator (contextual Purāṇic instruction; likely within the Revā-khaṇḍa discourse)
Tirtha: Revā (Narmadā)
Type: river
Scene: At the close of a fortnight, a householder performs śrāddha by the river: seated on kuśa, offering tarpaṇa with water and sesame; brāhmaṇas sit in a row to be honored; the atmosphere is serene, suggesting ‘anāmaya lokas’.
Ritual acts dedicated to Brahman and Dharma purify one’s destiny and are said to yield untroubled spiritual realms.
The Revā-khaṇḍa framework (Narmadā sacred region) underlies the instruction, though no single tirtha is named in this verse.
Perform śrāddha and offer tarpaṇa to eminent dvijas at the end of each fortnight (pakṣānta).
