tatra tīrthe tu yo bhaktyā sopavāso'rcayecchivam | anivartikā gatistasya rudralokādasaṃśayam
Mārkaṇḍeya
Tirtha: Śiva-tīrtha (implied)
Type: ghat
Scene: At the river-tīrtha, a fasting devotee with austere glow offers lamps and bilva to Śiva; above, a luminous path rises toward Rudra’s realm, suggesting ‘anivartikā gati’.
Devotion joined with vrata (fasting) at a sacred Śaiva site is taught to yield the highest, steadfast spiritual destiny.
The same Śiva-tīrtha discussed in Adhyāya 145 of the Revā-khaṇḍa.
Upavāsa (fasting) and arcanā/pūjā of Śiva at the tīrtha.
