The verse exalts Guruprasāda as the decisive power by which divine knowledge becomes effective, making moksha attainable not by mere personal exertion alone but through Shiva’s grace flowing via the Guru—central to Shaiva Siddhanta’s emphasis on anugraha (saving grace).
It frames all Shaiva practice—Linga worship, mantra, and devotion—as fruitful when received and performed under the Guru’s guidance and grace, through which Saguna worship matures into liberating realization of Shiva as Pati (the Lord) who bestows anugraha.
The implied practice is disciplined sādhana under a competent Guru—especially japa and dhyāna of Shiva (commonly the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—so that grace-born understanding becomes liberation-giving rather than remaining only intellectual.
