Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Significance: Legitimizes Liṅga-worship through Vedic/Upaniṣadic recitation; emphasizes śruti-based upāsanā as a means to purify the paśu and invite Śiva’s grace (anugraha).
Mantra: पवमानेन रुद्रेण नीलेन त्वरितेन च । लिंगसूक्तादिसूक्तैश्च शिरसाथर्वणेन च
Type: rudram
It affirms that Rudra–Śiva is approached through revealed mantra (śruti): specific Vedic hymns and Atharvaśiras are presented as authoritative means for purification and God-realization, aligning devotion (bhakti) with disciplined mantra-upāsanā.
By explicitly naming the Liṅga-sūkta, the verse frames Liṅga worship as śruti-supported Saguna upāsanā—using form (Liṅga) as a sanctified focus through which the devotee attains closeness to the transcendent Pati (Śiva).
Regular chanting/recitation of Rudra-related sūktas (Pavamāna, Nīla, Tvarita) along with the Liṅga-sūkta and Atharvaśiras—ideally as part of daily Śiva-pūjā or Mahāśivarātri observance, with steady japa and contemplative focus on Śiva as Pati.
