The verse teaches that disturbances arising in the subtle mind (such as inauspicious dreams) are to be purified through Śiva-centered discipline—mantra and offering—so the disciple regains inner clarity and steadiness on the path to Śiva (Pati).
By prescribing mūla-vidyā with homa, it emphasizes Saguna Śiva worship through mantra and ritual action, which steadies devotion and purifies karmic impressions—supporting Linga-upāsanā as a practical means of śānti.
A Śiva-mantra homa using the Root-Mantra (mūla-vidyā), with 100, 50, or 25 oblations for doṣa-śānti; it also implies accompanying mantra-japa with focused remembrance of Śiva.
