It teaches that spiritual maturity comes from aligning action (karma) with dharma—understanding how experiences arise and continue, living with rectitude (ārjava), and allowing life’s enjoyments to culminate in inner contentment that opens the heart to Shiva’s grace.
Linga worship emphasizes purity of intention and disciplined conduct; this verse supports that by urging straightforwardness and right engagement with life, so devotion becomes steady and pleasing to Saguna Shiva, culminating in higher prīti (devotional joy).
Practice daily Shiva-japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with honest self-audit of actions, and maintain sattvic discipline—optionally with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha—to cultivate ārjava and stable inner joy.
