सत्रप्रवृत्तिः — वायोः आगमनं च

Commencement of the Satra and the Arrival of Vāyu

मुनय ऊचुः । अद्य नः कुशलं सर्वमद्य साधु भवेत्तपः । अस्मच्छ्रेयोभिवृद्ध्यर्थं भवानत्रागतो यतः

مُنیوں نے کہا—آج ہمارا سب کچھ خیریت ہے؛ آج ہماری تپسیا سچ مچ پھل گئی، کیونکہ ہمارے اعلیٰ ترین بھلے کی افزائش کے لیے آپ یہاں تشریف لائے ہیں۔

It teaches that tapas (disciplined spiritual effort) reaches fulfillment when it leads to satsanga—meeting a worthy teacher or narrator—because such contact increases śreyas, the highest spiritual good oriented toward Shiva-realization.

Though the verse is a greeting, it establishes the Shaiva puranic method: hearing sacred narration from an authentic source strengthens devotion and right understanding, which then matures into proper Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga-upasana) and ultimately points toward the supreme Pati (Shiva).

The implied practice is śravaṇa (devotional listening) in holy company; as a Shaiva takeaway, one may pair such listening with daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and disciplined tapas to “increase śreyas.”
