वीरभद्रक्रोधशमनं देवस्तुतिश्च
Pacification of Vīrabhadra and the Gods’ Hymn
यदिदं देवदेवानां कृतमन्तुषु दूषणम् । तदिदं भूषणं मन्येत अंगीकारगौरवात्
yadidaṃ devadevānāṃ kṛtamantuṣu dūṣaṇam | tadidaṃ bhūṣaṇaṃ manyeta aṃgīkāragauravāt
دیوتاؤں کے دیوتاؤں نے ان لوگوں پر جو بھی ملامت کی ہو، اسے فروتنی سے قبول کرنے کی عظمت کے سبب اسی ملامت کو زیور سمجھنا چاہیے۔
Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva Purana teachings to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It teaches the Shaiva virtue of humility: when censure comes—even from highly placed beings—accepting it without ego purifies the soul (paśu) and loosens bonds (pāśa), becoming an inner “ornament” that supports liberation under the grace of Pati, Shiva.
Linga-worship emphasizes inner purification over social honor. This verse aligns with Saguna Shiva devotion where the devotee offers pride and self-justification into Shiva, accepting blame as tapas, thereby making the heart fit for steady Linga-dhyana and bhakti.
Practice daily self-offering (ātma-nivedana) with the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and consciously respond to criticism with silence, forgiveness, and remembrance of Shiva—treating the moment as tapas rather than retaliation.
