दक्षयज्ञदर्शनम् — The Vision of Dakṣa’s Great Sacrifice
and the Onset of Vīrabhadra’s Terror
तेन शब्देन महताः ग्रस्ता सर्वेदिवौकसः । दुद्रुवुः परितो भीताः स्रस्तवस्त्रविभूषणाः
tena śabdena mahatāḥ grastā sarvedivaukasaḥ | dudruvuḥ parito bhītāḥ srastavastravibhūṣaṇāḥ

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Bhairava
Cosmic Event: Devas’ loss of composure under a supra-cosmic sound (portent of divine intervention).
It depicts how even celestial powers become shaken when confronted with overwhelming divine force; in Shaiva Siddhanta this highlights the smallness of bound souls (paśu) before the Lord (Pati) and the need to move from fear to surrender and devotion.
The verse shows the gods reacting to a manifest, perceivable power—an aspect of Saguna presence. Linga-worship trains the mind to recognize Shiva’s supreme reality expressed through a tangible symbol, replacing panic with reverent steadiness.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") to stabilize the mind when fear arises, along with cultivating inner refuge in Shiva through simple daily worship (dhyana and offering) rather than reacting with agitation.
