बिभेत्यल्पश्रुताद्वेदो मामयं प्रतरिष्यति । सर्गश्च प्रतिसर्गश्च वंशो मन्वंतराणि च
bibhetyalpaśrutādvedo māmayaṃ pratariṣyati | sargaśca pratisargaśca vaṃśo manvaṃtarāṇi ca
وید کم علم آدمی سے ڈرتا ہے—یہ سوچ کر کہ ‘یہ مجھے غلط طور پر پار کرانے (یعنی غلط شرح کرنے) کی کوشش کرے گا۔’ وید میں سَرگ اور پرتِسَرگ، نسب نامے اور منونتر کے ادوار کا بیان ہے۔
