The Account of Śambhu’s Incarnation that Dispels Doubts Concerning Women
asya mātā pūrvabhave sapatnīṃ chadmanāharat | bhakṣitā tena pāpena grāheṇā'sminbhave hi sā

It highlights the Purāṇic law of karma: deceit and harm done to others become pāśa (bondage) that ripens as suffering across births, urging repentance and dharmic conduct while seeking Shiva’s grace for release.
The verse sets a narrative ground for turning to Saguna Shiva—worship of the Linga—as a means of inner purification, confession, and transformation, so karmic bondage is weakened and the devotee is guided toward Shiva’s liberating compassion.
A practical takeaway is sincere prāyaścitta through Shiva-bhakti—japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), offering bilva leaves to the Linga, and living truthfully—so the tendency toward deceit is uprooted.
