Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Brahmā foretells that the daityas are ‘devyā vadhyau’—slain by the Goddess—then instructs remembrance of Śiva ‘saśiva’ (Śiva with Śakti). This is a theological pivot to Śiva-Śakti as the ultimate refuge.
Significance: Encourages śaraṇāgati to Śiva together with Śakti; fruit is dhairya (steadfastness) and eventual deliverance through divine grace.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: liberating
It teaches that fear is overcome by dhairya (steadfastness) rooted in remembrance of Śiva united with Śakti; divine outcomes unfold by dharma, and devotion stabilizes the mind amid inevitable destiny.
Remembering “Śiva with Śakti” points to Saguna upāsanā—worship of the Lord as the compassionate, responsive deity; in practice this is aligned with Linga-worship where Śiva is adored as Pati (Lord) together with His power (Śakti).
A direct takeaway is smaraṇa (remembrance) with ādarā (reverence)—mentally repeating the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and contemplating Śiva-Śakti unity, especially before action in stressful or dangerous circumstances.
