FAQs

The verse expresses bhakti through humility: even extraordinary powers (like “a thousand arms”) are meaningless without divine alignment, and Shiva (Pati) alone is truly incomparable in all the worlds.

It reflects Saguna Shiva-bhakti—addressing Shiva as the supreme, matchless Lord in a personal form—an attitude that also underlies Linga worship where the devotee acknowledges Shiva’s unrivalled sovereignty.

The takeaway is surrender and remembrance: repeat the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a humble mind, offering one’s strength and achievements to Shiva rather than relying on ego-driven power.
