Tripuramohana — “The Delusion/Enchanting of Tripura”
प्रामाणिकी श्रुतिरियं प्रोच्यते वेदवादिभिः । न हिंस्यात्सर्वभूतानि नान्या हिंसा प्रवर्तिका
prāmāṇikī śrutiriyaṃ procyate vedavādibhiḥ | na hiṃsyātsarvabhūtāni nānyā hiṃsā pravartikā
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the Purāṇic teaching to the sages, presenting Śruti-aligned dharma)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Significance: Ahiṁsā is framed as śruti-pramāṇa dharma; in Śaiva Siddhānta it functions as a preparatory purity (śuddhi) supporting sādhana and Śiva’s anugraha (grace) toward liberation.
It establishes ahiṃsā (non-injury) as Śruti-authorized dharma: by refusing to harm any being, the devotee purifies mind and conduct, making the soul fit for Śiva’s grace and liberation in a Shaiva Siddhanta sense.
Linga-worship is not merely external ritual; it must be supported by inner purity and compassion. Ahiṃsā becomes an ethical offering to Saguna Śiva, aligning the worshipper’s life with the Lord’s dharmic order.
Adopt ahiṃsā as a vrata (vow) alongside daily Shiva-pūjā—chanting the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with deliberate restraint in speech, thought, and action, treating non-harm as a continual discipline.
