The graphic battle imagery symbolizes Shiva’s shakti removing violent pride and adharmic forces; severed, ornamented arms suggest that mere power and status cannot stand before divine order, pointing to the Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on grace dissolving ego and bondage (pāśa).
Such descriptions highlight Saguna Shiva as the active Lord who restores dharma; worship of the Linga remembers that the same Lord who appears in form for protection is ultimately the transcendent Pati, beyond all forms, granting refuge to the devotee.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with bhakti, contemplating Shiva as the remover of inner aggression; offering bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) can be done as a reminder of impermanence and surrender.
