It highlights how extraordinary worldly power—even “lordship over the three worlds”—remains within saṃsāra; in Shaiva Siddhanta, only Shiva (Pati) truly transcends all realms, and pride in strength becomes a cause of bondage (pāśa).
By contrasting a powerful asura’s temporary sovereignty with Shiva’s supreme, enduring lordship, the verse implicitly directs the devotee toward Saguna Shiva worship (Linga as the steadfast support) rather than reliance on unstable worldly dominion.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to cultivate humility and surrender, recognizing Shiva as the true Adhīśvara beyond triloka.
