Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Parvati
Role: liberating
It presents Śiva’s grace as transformative: through devotion, the devotee abandons duḥkha (bondage-born sorrow) and reaches mahāgati—an exalted state aligned with liberation and divine beatitude in a Shaiva Siddhanta sense.
In the Shiva Purana narrative frame, such ‘mahāgati’ results from steadfast Saguna Śiva-upāsanā—often centered on Linga worship—through which the Lord bestows anugraha (saving grace) and removes worldly afflictions.
The takeaway is consistent Śiva-bhakti: daily Linga pūjā with mantra-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), supported by pure conduct (dharma) as exemplified by the devoted household life of the couple.
