FAQs

The verse exalts an ideal Shaiva as the “fire” that purifies and as “acyuta,” unwavering in devotion—pointing to Shaiva Siddhānta’s emphasis on steadfast bhakti and inner purification as supports for Śiva’s grace (anugraha) leading toward liberation.

By praising the foremost devotee and highlighting essential syllabic power, it frames Saguna worship—such as Linga-pūjā and mantra-japa—as a disciplined, unwavering orientation to Śiva, where devotion becomes the purifying ‘fire’ that makes worship fruitful.

Regular mantra-japa with attention to each syllable—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Namaḥ Śivāya”—is implied; recite steadily (acyuta-bhāva), letting the mantra act as inner ‘fire’ that purifies intent, ideally alongside Shaiva supports like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa.
