(Devastuti) — Hymn/Praise of the Devas
namaste māyine tubhyaṃ māyādhīśāya vai namaḥ | brahmagāya namastubhyaṃ brahmaṇe brahmajāya ca
Suta Goswami (narrating the stuti within the Yuddha-khaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It affirms Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who both employs and transcends Māyā—thereby positioning liberation as grace-filled surrender to the One who controls the bonds (pāśa) and reveals the Supreme Reality (Brahman).
By calling Shiva the Lord of Māyā and also Brahman, the verse supports Saguna worship (such as Linga-pūjā and stuti) as a valid doorway through which the devotee approaches the Nirguna truth—Shiva as the supreme, unborn source even of Brahmā.
Recite this as a short stuti before Linga worship, pairing it with Panchākṣarī japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while contemplating Shiva as the inner ruler of Māyā and the giver of liberation.
