Devas Go to Vaikuṇṭha and Praise Viṣṇu’s Avatāras

Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pashu
The verse highlights the fragility of mere celestial power: even devas tremble when confronted by overwhelming karma and conflict. In a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, true refuge is Pati (Shiva), not status—fear subsides when one turns from self-reliance to surrender and right worship.
The devas’ flight underscores the need for a concrete refuge in crisis. Saguna Shiva—worshiped as the Linga—functions as the accessible, grace-giving Lord who protects devotees and restores dharma when beings are shaken by fear and disorder.
As a practical takeaway, take refuge through japa of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady the mind with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) remembrance; these are traditional Shaiva supports for fearlessness and inner composure during turmoil.
