FAQs

The verse presents Śiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) whom even the eight yogic perfections serve; it teaches that siddhis are secondary attendants, while liberation comes by devotion and surrender to Śiva’s lordship.

It supports Saguna worship by offering concrete attributes for dhyāna—serpents as ornaments and Pināka as His emblem—helping the devotee concentrate; such contemplation naturally culminates in Linga-worship as the condensed symbol of the same Supreme.

Practice Śiva-dhyāna by visualizing Him with Vāsuki and Pināka, then chant the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”); treat any experiences or powers as distractions, offering them inwardly at Śiva’s feet rather than pursuing siddhis.
