The verse highlights the Shaiva-Puranic principle that sincere stuti (devotional praise) invites anugraha (grace). Durgā-Kālikā’s invitation to “choose a boon” shows divine compassion responding to devotion, preparing the unfolding of Parvatī-related destiny within Rudra Saṃhitā.
Though the verse centers on Durgā/Kālikā, in Shaiva Siddhānta the Goddess functions as Śiva’s śakti—grace operating in the manifest (saguṇa) realm. Boon-granting narratives support saguṇa upāsanā (devotional worship) that steadies the seeker and aligns life toward Śiva-bhakti, which ultimately culminates in devotion to Śiva and reverence for the Liṅga.
A practical takeaway is stotra-japa and heartfelt praise as a daily discipline—optionally alongside Śiva-oriented worship such as pañcākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple pūjā. The verse specifically models devotion leading to grace rather than prescribing a particular item like rudrākṣa or bhasma.
