Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights that humility, service to realized sages, and reverence to the Divine (here, Pārvatī) calm the mind and remove भ्रम (delusion), making one fit to understand Shaiva truth—Pati (Śiva) as the liberator of the soul.
The verse models the inner posture required for Saguna worship—añjali (folded hands), devotion, and purity of mind. Such disciplined reverence is the foundation for approaching Śiva in form (Liṅga) and receiving clarity that leads toward the formless (Nirguṇa) understanding.
Practice guru-satsanga and sevā (service), begin worship with añjali and a शांत (serene) mind, and do japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to dissolve doubt and stabilize devotion.
