सत्यप्रतिज्ञा-तपःसंवादः
Pārvatī’s Vow of Truth and the Dialogue on Her Tapas
जानाम्यहं महादेवं सर्वथा गुरुधर्म्मतः । प्रवदामि यथार्थं हि सावधानतया शृणु
jānāmyahaṃ mahādevaṃ sarvathā gurudharmmataḥ | pravadāmi yathārthaṃ hi sāvadhānatayā śṛṇu
میں گُرو کے سکھائے ہوئے دھرم کے مطابق ہر طرح مہادیو کو جانتا ہوں۔ اس لیے میں حقیقت بیان کرتا ہوں—پورے دھیان سے سنو۔
Pārvatī
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It establishes that true knowledge of Mahādeva is grounded in guru-dharma (authentic instruction) and received through attentive śravaṇa (listening). In Shaiva Siddhanta, such disciplined hearing prepares the soul (paśu) for Shiva’s grace (anugraha).
By emphasizing guru-guided truth, it implies that Linga and Saguna-Śiva worship should be done according to proper teaching and tradition, not mere opinion—hearing correctly leads to correct understanding and devotion toward Mahādeva.
The key practice is sāvadhāna-śravaṇa—attentive listening to Shiva-tattva teachings from a qualified guru, which supports mantra-japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī ‘Om Namaḥ Śivāya’) and steady bhakti in daily worship.
