Himagiri Presents Kālī (Pārvatī) to Śiva
śaṃbhuruvāca | iyaṃ kumārī suśroṇī tanvī candrānanā śubhā | nānetavyā matsamīpe vārayāmi punaḥ punaḥ
Lord Shiva (Śambhu)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights Śiva’s mastery over desire and distraction—an expression of the Lord’s self-restraint (vairāgya) and purity, teaching that spiritual authority is grounded in inner control.
As Saguna Śiva, He models dharmic conduct and yogic restraint; as the Linga signifies the transcendent (nirguṇa) reality beyond attraction, the verse points devotees toward worship that purifies the mind and turns it inward.
The takeaway is sense-restraint supported by japa—especially Panchākṣarī mantra practice (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—and a disciplined sādhana that keeps the mind from approaching distractions.
