Cosmic Event: heavenly ‘paths’ (san-mārga) congested by beings converging on a decisive divine event
The verse highlights how even celestial beings are drawn to the unfolding of dharma in Shiva’s cosmic order; witnessing such events is portrayed as a sacred occasion that reveals the workings of Pati (Śiva) guiding the universe.
Though the verse is narrative, it supports Saguna Śiva-bhakti by presenting the cosmos as responsive to Shiva-governed events; devotees are reminded that divine play (līlā) and protection of dharma ultimately rest on the Lord worshiped as the Liṅga.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa (devotional listening) and smaraṇa (remembrance) of Shiva Purana episodes with the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating steadiness and reverence for dharma amid conflict.
