The Dialogue at the Gate: Gaṇeśa and Śiva’s Gaṇas
tataśca tadvacaḥ śrutvādbhutalīlo maheśvaraḥ | vinirbhartsya gaṇānūce nijāṃllokagatirmune
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: teaching
It shows Shiva as Pati (the Lord) who corrects even his own attendants, teaching that divine grace includes discipline and that dharma is upheld in Shiva’s realm for the good of all beings.
The verse highlights Saguna Shiva as the personal Lord who actively governs, teaches, and protects cosmic order—an aspect devotees approach in Linga worship as the compassionate yet just ruler of the universe.
The practical takeaway is self-correction through devotion: recite the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with humility and cultivate disciplined conduct (niyama) as part of Shiva-bhakti.
