प्रलंबाख्योऽसुरो यो हि रणादस्मात्पलायितः । स तत्रोपद्रवं चक्रे प्रबलस्तारकानुगः
pralaṃbākhyo'suro yo hi raṇādasmātpalāyitaḥ | sa tatropadravaṃ cakre prabalastārakānugaḥ
پرلمب نامی وہ اسُر جو اس جنگ سے بھاگ نکلا تھا، وہاں جا پہنچا؛ اور طاقتور ہو کر، تارک کا پیرو بن کر، پھر فساد اور ظلم برپا کرنے لگا۔

The verse highlights how adharma can reappear even after retreat—symbolizing recurring inner disturbances (upadrava). In a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, steadfast alignment with Pati (Shiva) and His divine order is needed to subdue such returning forces.
Though the verse is narrative, it supports the Purana’s theme that protection and restoration of dharma occur through reliance on Saguna Shiva’s governance—approaching Shiva (often via Linga worship) as the Lord who empowers divine forces to remove turmoil.
As a practical takeaway, one may counter “upadrava” through regular japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and disciplined purity practices such as Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha, offered with devotion for steadiness of mind.
