The Slaying of Indrajit
सःपितृव्यस्यसङ्क्रुद्धःइन्द्रजिच्छरमाददे ।।।।उत्तमंरक्षसांमध्येयमदत्तंमहाबलम् ।
saḥ pitṛvyasya saṅkruddha indrajic charam ādade | uttamaṃ rākṣasāṃ madhye yamadattaṃ mahābalam ||
وہ اپنے چچا پر غضبناک ہو کر، اندرجیت نے راکشسوں کے بیچ یم کی عطا کردہ نہایت برتر اور عظیم قوت والی تیر اٹھا لی۔
Indrajith, angry with his uncle, staying in the midst of Rakshasas, seized a mighty strong best arrow gifted by Yama.
Power (even divinely sourced) is ethically neutral until directed by right intention. The verse prompts a Dharmic question: should extraordinary weapons be used for ego and anger, especially against kin?
Wounded and provoked, Indrajit escalates by choosing a special, Yama-gifted arrow in the presence of his troops.
Determination and access to boons/weapons—though framed by anger, showing how prowess can be driven by negative emotions.
