Kumbhakarna’s Counsel and War-Boast to Ravana
अहमुत्सादयिष्यामिशत्रूंस्तवमहाबल: ।यदिशक्रोयदियमोयदिपावकमारुतौ ।।6.63.43।।तानहंयोधयिष्यामिकुबेरवरुणावपि ।
aham utsādayiṣyāmi śatrūṃs tava mahābalaḥ | yadi śakro yadi yamo yadi pāvakamārutau ||6.63.43|| tān ahaṃ yodhayiṣyāmi kuberavaruṇāv api |
میں، اپنی عظیم قوت کے ساتھ، تیرے دشمنوں کو کچل ڈالوں گا؛ خواہ وہ شکر (اندرا) ہوں یا یم، یا اگنی اور وایو۔ میں کُبیر اور ورُن سے بھی جنگ کروں گا۔
"I shall exterminate your enemies, however mighty they may be. I can contend with Indra or fire god or Yama or wind god, Kubera or even Varuna."
The verse cautions (by contrast) against pride that challenges cosmic order. Ramayana dharma repeatedly shows that power without humility and truth leads to downfall.
The speaker boasts to Rāvaṇa that no opponent is too great—invoking even major deities as hypothetical adversaries.
Extreme confidence and martial daring (śaurya), expressed through divine comparisons.
