Prahasta’s Departure and the Muster of the Rakshasa Host
सोऽहंदानैश्चमानैश्चसततंपूजितस्त्वया ।।।।सान्त्वैश्चविविधैःकालेकिंनकुर्यांहितंतव ।
so'haṃ dānaiś ca mānaiś ca satataṃ pūjitas tvayā | sāntvaiś ca vividhaiḥ kāle kiṃ na kuryāṃ hitaṃ tava || 6.57.15 ||
میں تو تیرے ہی ہاتھوں ہمیشہ دان و عطا، عزت و تکریم، اور وقتاً فوقتاً طرح طرح کی تسلی آمیز باتوں سے نوازا گیا ہوں؛ پھر جب وقت آ پہنچا ہے تو میں تیری بھلائی کیوں نہ کروں؟
"You have always given me gifts, many honours and praises earlier and worshipped me. When time comes why will I not do"
Dharma of service includes gratitude and reciprocation; yet it also implies that ‘doing good’ for a ruler should align with rightful counsel, not blind flattery.
