Akampana Dispatched; The Vanara–Rakshasa Battle and Omens
एषशास्ताचगोप्ताचनेताचयुधिसत्तमः ।भूतिकामश्चमेनित्यंनित्यंचसमरप्रियः ।।।।
eṣa śāstā ca goptā ca netā ca yudhi-sattamaḥ | bhūti-kāmaś ca me nityaṃ nityaṃ ca samara-priyaḥ ||
یہ دشمنوں کو سزا دینے والا، محافظ اور رہنما ہے—جنگ میں سب سے برتر؛ میری غرض کی بھلائی کا ہمیشہ خواہاں، اور ہر دم رَن کی محبت میں رچا بسا۔
There, the highly furious Rakshasas also exterminated the Vanaras with their weapons and darts.
The verse highlights the ruler’s expectation that a leader should protect and guide his people; it indirectly points to rajadharma (duty of leadership), even though it is voiced from the opposing side.
In the war-council context, Akampana is being described as a capable commander—protector, leader, and battle-expert—fit to be relied upon in the coming clash.
