The Lament under the Net of Arrows
परित्यक्षाम्यहंप्राणान्वानराणांतुपश्याताम् ।यदिपञ्चत्वमापन्नस्सुमित्रानन्दवर्धनः ।।6.49.7।।
parityakṣāmy ahaṃ prāṇān vānarāṇāṃ tu paśyatām | yadi pañcatvam āpannaḥ sumitrānandavardhanaḥ ||6.49.7||
اگر سُمِترا کا آنند—لکشمن—واقعی پنچ بھوتوں میں جا ملا ہے، تو میں وानروں کے دیکھتے دیکھتے اپنے پران تیاگ دوں گا۔
Thereafter, Vibheeshana, settling all the army, hastened to reach Raghava with a mace.

Rāma, fearing Lakṣmaṇa is dead, declares he will not continue living, speaking in front of the Vanara host.
Integrity in relationships and accountability: Rāma refuses to treat others’ sacrifice as expendable for achieving ends.
