सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
एषसेतुंमहोत्साहःकरोतुमयिवानरः ।तमहंधारयिष्यामियथाह्येषपितातथा ।।।।
eṣa setuṃ mahotsāhaḥ karotu mayi vānaraḥ | tam ahaṃ dhārayiṣyāmi yathā hy eṣa pitā tathā ||
یہ نہایت جوش والا وानر میرے اوپر ہی پل (سیتو) بنائے؛ میں اسے تھام لوں گا—کیونکہ یہ ہنر میں اپنے پتا کے مانند ہے۔
"This monkey is full of zeal. He will build a bridge over me, and I will bear it. In that way he is like his father."
Dharma is cooperative righteousness: even mighty forces (the ocean) align themselves to support a just cause when rightful action and rightful leadership are present.
The Ocean-deity consents to support the bridge, declaring he will sustain it as Nala builds.
Supportive responsibility—bearing a burden for the sake of a righteous collective aim.
