The Intensification of the Rama–Ravana Duel
पूरितातेनशब्देनसनदीगिरिकानना ।सञ्चचाल मही सर्वा त्रस्तसिंहमृगद्विजा ।।6.100.7।।
pūritā tena śabdena sa nadīgirikānanā |
sañcacāla mahī sarvā trastasiṃhamṛgadvijā ||6.100.7||
اُس ہولناک آواز سے ساری دھرتی—اپنی ندیوں، پہاڑوں اور جنگلوں سمیت—گُونج اُٹھی اور لرزنے لگی؛ شیر، ہرن و دیگر جانور اور پرندے سب دہشت زدہ ہو گئے۔
The great soul Dasarathi encountered the missiles released by Ravana rendering them void. Sugriva the Lord of monkeys overpowered by happiness spoke as follows.।। itayāraṣēvālamīkīyēśarīmadarāmāyaṇēādikāvayēyudadhakāṇaḍēśatatamasasaragaḥ ।।This is the end of the hundredth sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
Adharma’s violence disturbs not only people but the natural order; dharma aims to restore balance and protect the innocent.
Rāvaṇa’s chariot-noise and advance create a shockwave-like effect across the landscape.
The verse indirectly emphasizes restraint as a virtue: the righteous do not revel in terrorizing the world.
