O Bharata, the best of men, I want to treat your army with food. This will please me and I hope you will act accordingly.
Hospitality (atithi-satkāra) is framed as dharma: the sage treats the arriving party with generosity, asking Bharata to accept in a manner appropriate to honor and social duty.
Bharadvāja offers to feed Bharata’s large army as part of receiving him at the hermitage.
Bharadvāja’s generosity and graciousness—he finds joy in giving and in upholding the host’s duty.
