Crossing the Gaṅgā; Sumantra’s Return; Adoption of Ascetic Signs
ततः स प्राञ्जलिर्भूत्वा गुहो राघवमब्रवीत्।उपस्थितेयं नौर्देव भूयः किं करवाणि ते।।2.52.8।।
tataḥ sa prāñjalir bhūtvā guho rāghavam abravīt | upasthiteyaṃ naur deva bhūyaḥ kiṃ karavāṇi te || 2.52.8 ||
پھر گُہہ نے ہاتھ جوڑ کر راگھو سے عرض کیا: "اے پرَبھو! کشتی حاضر ہے؛ اب میں آپ کی خدمت میں اور کیا کروں؟"
Rama of undimmed radiance sipped the waters (of the Ganga) in accordance with the scriptures and with great pleasure and paid obeisance to the river with Sita and Lakshmana.
Sevā and atithi-dharma: Guha respectfully offers practical help to a righteous guest in distress, asking what further duty remains.
On the Gaṅgā’s bank, Guha arranges a boat for Rāma’s crossing and stands ready to serve.
Guha’s devotion and humility—expressed through folded hands and eagerness to assist without being asked.
