When you dwell in the forest may all the mountains, seas, lord Varuna, heaven, space, and earth and also all rivers, all stars and planets with their presiding deities, day, night, dawn and dusk protect you!
Dharma is harmonized with the cosmos: natural and divine forces are invoked as protectors, implying that truthful duty aligns a person with the sustaining order of the world.
A sequence of benedictions expands from personal virtues to cosmic and natural guardians as Rāma heads into the forest.
Reliability in dharma: Rāma is imagined as one whose conduct is so aligned that the world itself becomes supportive rather than hostile.
