Kausalya’s Benedictions and Protective Rites for Rama

May Siddhas, guardians of the quarters invoked by me protect you from all directions in that forest at all times, O my son!
Dharma is portrayed as protection that extends in every direction: the righteous person is ‘covered’ by order and guardianship, suggesting moral life is lived with awareness of responsibility in all quarters.
Rāma is being blessed for safety in the forest, with emphasis on protection from every direction and at all times.
Vigilance joined to dharma: living rightly in the wilderness requires constant ethical alertness, not merely physical caution.
