Sandhi Resolution Notes: चंद्रोयं = चन्द्रः + अयम्; सभार्य = स-भार्यः; त्यजेदपि = त्यजेत् + अपि
The verse instructs the listener to imagine the Moon (Candra) taking the guise of a brāhmaṇa along with his wife, as a purposeful visualization intended to secure Rohiṇī’s continued presence and intimacy with Kṛṣṇa.
The wording “kalpayet” (“one should imagine/visualize”) points primarily to a deliberate mental construction (a visualization) rather than an explicit external rite; it functions as a devotional or intention-setting technique within the narrative setting.
The verse implies the value placed on steadfast companionship and constancy in relationship—expressed as the wish that Rohiṇī not leave Kṛṣṇa’s side even momentarily.
