Unspecified in provided excerpt (context needed; likely a disciple-questioner addressing the narrator-sage)

Concept: Ritual is not merely an act but a structured dharmic performance: place (tīrtha), procedure (vidhi), and community (ṛtvij/sadasya) together shape its sanctifying power.

Application: When undertaking vows or worship, attend to context: right place, right method, and right guidance; seek clarity rather than vague religiosity.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Type: tirtha

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A questioning disciple gestures toward a diagram of a yajña-vedi drawn in sacred ash, while the sage points toward a stylized map of tīrthas. In the background, priests prepare ladles, kusa grass, and clarified butter, suggesting that the narrative will soon name the ford and the officiants.","primary_figures":["Questioner (Bhīṣma implied)","Pulastya","Ṛtvijas","Sadasyas"],"setting":"Āśrama courtyard with a marked yajña-vedi, ritual vessels, kusa bundles, and a riverbank hinted beyond trees.","lighting_mood":"forest dappled","color_palette":["earth brown","kusa green","ghee-gold","smoke gray","vermillion"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: a sage instructs a royal questioner beside a richly ornamented yajña-vedi; priests hold sruk-sruva ladles and offer ghee into stylized flames; gold leaf highlights on vessels and halos, deep red and green textiles, ornate borders.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: delicate scene of inquiry near a small fire-altar; refined priests in white, subtle smoke curls, a river glinting behind trees; cool palette with fine detailing of ritual implements and patterned shawls.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold altar geometry, priests in rhythmic poses around the fire, the sage pointing to the tīrtha direction; strong outlines, warm pigments, decorative floral frame.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central yajña-fire with symmetrical attendants; lotus borders and small river panels; intricate floral motifs, deep blue ground with gold accents, peacocks in corners."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"narrative","suggested_raga":"Bhupali","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"reverent-soft","sound_elements":["crackling fire","low Vedic chanting","wooden ladle taps","distant river flow"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: कस्मिंस्तीर्थे = कस्मिन् + तीर्थे; ऋत्विजश्च = ऋत्विजः + च; सर्वांस्तान्प्रब्रवीहि = सर्वान् + तान् + प्रब्रवीहि.

FAQs

It frames the sacrifice as tied to a specific tīrtha, implying that ritual efficacy and narrative significance are anchored in identifiable sacred places; however, the verse itself does not name the tīrtha.

Indirectly: by asking for detailed context (place, participants, procedure), it models reverent inquiry (śravaṇa and praśna) that often precedes devotion; explicit bhakti theology is not stated in this line.

It highlights intellectual humility and disciplined inquiry—seeking complete information (who, where, how) before forming conclusions about religious acts and their meaning.
