Unspecified (male speaker addressing Devī)

Concept: When the world is overburdened by adharma, the divine arranges a purposeful descent to restore balance.

FAQs

It means “for the removal (nāśa) of the burden (bhāra) of the earth (pṛthivī),” a common Purāṇic motif for restoring dharma when the world is oppressed by adharma.

Marttyamaṇḍala is the “sphere/region of mortals,” i.e., the human world where embodied beings live and where divine purposes are enacted through events in history.

The verse frames service to cosmic order as purposeful action: descending into the human world is presented as a mission to relieve suffering and restore balance, encouraging responsibility and dharmic intervention when harm becomes excessive.
