Narration of the Greatness of Harivāsara

Ekādaśī, the Day Sacred to Hari

Concept: Even minimal contamination (doṣa) can nullify a vrata; when śuddhi is broken, the observance must be re-performed according to rule.

Application: Treat commitments like sacred vessels: avoid ‘small’ compromises; if you slip, repair promptly—restart with clarity rather than rationalizing the breach.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A serene temple kitchen and sanctum threshold: a golden ghee-pot sits on a clean altar cloth while a single dark drop of liquor falls nearby, creating a stark moral contrast. FAQs

It teaches that even slight contamination (symbolized by a drop of liquor) can invalidate a properly observed Ekādaśī, requiring corrective observance on Dvādaśī.

Ghee is treated as a pure, sacred substance; the example illustrates how a small impurity can render something ritually unacceptable, emphasizing strictness in vrata discipline.

It underscores vigilance in conduct: small lapses can undermine a larger commitment, so one should maintain careful integrity and, if a fault occurs, make amends through proper correction.
