Ānakadundubhi is an epithet of Vasudeva, Devakī’s husband and the father of Kṛṣṇa in the wider Vaiṣṇava narrative tradition.
Kaṃsa is portrayed as a tyrant who threatens Devakī’s offspring; the verse highlights her joy at seeing Vasudeva alongside the continuing danger posed by Kaṃsa.
The verse juxtaposes hope and fear, illustrating steadfastness in crisis and the human vulnerability that frames later divine intervention in the Kṛṣṇa-related narrative context.
